LIVE IN SUPPORT WORKER

The young people our support staff work with every day have a diverse range of care needs, personalities and lifestyles. We’re looking for someone just like you, to provide the award-winning care we pride ourselves on, by living in the young people's homes, helping to maintain their independence and enriching their lives. 

Renumeration

This role is offered on a self-employed basis.  Successful candidates will need to provide proof of the following:

£800 - £900 per week depending on qualifications.  (Must have Level 3 in Health and Social Care to receive the £900 per week)

  • HMRC UTR Number
  • Liability Insurance
  • National Insurance Number
  • All neccessary paperwork requested by company before taking on role.

Hours of Work

14 days/nights on shift.

7 days off

Rota's devised in advance so all staff are aware of their shifts.

Main Tasks

  • Live in the young person’s property for 14 days and nights, support the young person with independence skills and household chores.  
  • Delivering the independence support plan.
  • Complete daily paperwork and reports online.
  • Ensure the property is in order, any repair issues flag up with management.
  • Support young person to undertake general housekeeping/cleaning duties within the property
  • Engage with young person.
  • Complete any other checks as and when required through your shift.
  • Assist the young person in cooking meals and cleaning  up after themselves.
  • Assist young person with any educational work they may have for college or training.
  • Communicate essential information with other support workers and managers as and when required.
  • Be aware of your surroundings always, for the safety of the young people.
  • Work with external agencies.
  • Assist with appointments with external agencies.

Apply if you possess:

  • NVQ (QCF) Level 3 (or above) in Health & Social Care
  • Minimum of 12 months experience working with vulnerable young people
  • A current DBS check
  • Full clean, UK driving licence (necessity)
  • IT literacy – MS Office
  • Excellent communication, organisation and report writing skills
  • A flexible, empathic, supportive attitude
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • Training in safe-guarding, child protection, risk assessments beneficial.
  • You must have a professional manner as you will be working closely with social workers and professionals from external agencies.

Training in company procedure and systems will be provided.
